History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting drow, the young Hugh began to lead the lost caravan. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. He has had some formal poetry training, and achieved minor success. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. Personality: He is irritable and easily angered. He is a bit of a bully and is not afraid to use his stature and powers to intimidate and hurt. He misses his home and complains about the freezing weather, even in summer.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
