History: When he was but 8 years old his parents immigrated from the north. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Hugh was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and he loathes his own lifestyle

When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. In his 12th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his mother impaled in their home, and his father beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
