Personality: He is happy with his job as a Cartwright. He turns his eye from what people do, preferring to live and let live. He is fiercely devoted to his father, and views his father's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating him from his legal half-brother.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Peter was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. Like his father and his brother before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Cartwright. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Layabout they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Cartwright, and he later adopted a second daughter.

History: He was born in the east, but his parents moved at a very young age to the west. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the east were limited. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and many dire rats want him driven away

Personality: He is quiet and reserved most of the time, but warms up to people very quickly. Around friends he is liable to tell dirty jokes and enjoy himself. He has a hair trigger and will fly into rage over the tiniest perceived slights.

History: Born in the east to a Baker, Raymond learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. A gifted student he started as a Doctor, but he got bored and became a Baker. After a long history of fighting, Raymond and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Baker responsibilities is difficult.

Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. He cannot resist a sob story and will often dote over anyone who has one.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: He is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally; and he feels threatened by others

History: When he was but 8 years old his parents immigrated from the east. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Human companion (his 'brother'). He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.
