It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: Norman was born in the east. At a young age he loved to build and create. He always admired arcane-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He struck the Sculptor job and began his own company from there.

History: The child of eastern immigrants he idolized his mother. His mother took him hunting and taught him how to get in the mind of other creatures. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature pickaxe.

Motivation: Revenge; and a deep hatred of dire rats

Description: A middle-aged man, he likes to wear darkened spectacles and heavy clothing, no matter the weather, and is pretty ugly. He has a long black beard with little hanging trinkets. His violet eyes lackadaisically let the world flow into them.

Personality: He is curt in most of his responses. He prefers to keep his word usage to a minimum to avoid giving away unnecessary information. He is terrible with names forgetting people's names several times before they finally stick; this causes him no end of embarrassment.

History: Richard lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Human activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Motivation: A strong sense of loyalty to Human people; and doesn't want to be a servant and was forced into it by his family

Description: He is an average looking western male in his early mid-life. He is wearing a long, yellow, dusty cloak. His red hair is kept up in a ponytail inside a broad hat. This amber eyed westerner is not easily forgotten.

Personality: His voice, at times compared to that of a Nymph, lambasts those who consider themselves "civilized" with snide, belittling remarks; the subtle growl he speaks with growing louder in doing so, one can find it most pronounced, despite the otherwise natural purity of his tone. He does not trust anyone and sleeps with one eye open.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Courier. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: To be a Performer again; and wants his loneliness to end
