History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his mother. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the west were limited. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. When Gerard reached his early adolescence his Human father passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Gerard was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.
