History: Simon was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Sorcerer, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Sorcerer in service of a powerful lord somewhere. History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Gerard was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He has had some formal music training, and achieved minor success. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Motivation: To reunite with his absent father.

He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
