History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. A few years later when the south was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He has never given up on his painting dream.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Gerald was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: He takes his job very seriously, in part because he fears he cannot get a new one. He has no love for corruption and racketeering and views those as crimes of the highest magnitude.

History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.
