Description: A well shaped man just over fifty, he typically wears tan cloth garments or leather armor. His auburn hair is singed and shortened. He has a very pronounced jaw and large eyebrows. He wears rectangular glasses with silver brims.
Personality: Ernest is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. He seeks to pay back kindness whenever he gets the chance. Whether it be in the form of unwanted serenades or the latest gossip he always seeks to do solids for his friends.
History: Ernest was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. Ernest abandoned his home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. He survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. He did whatever it took for him to survive. He has dedicated himself to building a better village for his children.
Motivation: Meet up once more with his childhood friend; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark

Personality: He is erratic and paranoid. He believes dire rats are coming to abduct people. He takes great pride in his work and is very well organized. His planner is full of calendar events.
History: Alex was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Scribe hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Scribe for the past few years.
Motivation: Revenge; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

Description: Relatively heavier built than your average man, he is not imposing. He wears a tan tunic with brown highlights, and long tan pants that bunch up around his shoes. His hair is golden and very short. He wears crescent spectacles with a black brim.
Personality: He loves justice and goodness and right action. Anyone who does not fulfill this criteria perfectly will no doubt get a lecture from him. He is the most sanctimonious self-righteous Human in existence. He has a cruel streak; something he gained from his previous mentor. He harbors resentment against his former mentor.
History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. While he appears to be a normal Human, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. Recently a tribe of drow attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Manfred fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
Motivation: He feels threatened by others; and he is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally

Personality: He shows great sympathy to all travelers. He's the type to buy drinks and listen to their stories. Despite his manner, he is extremely passionate and proud of his job, and he prides himself in being thorough and never missing a detail.
History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. Since his father passed away years ago, his mother had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
