History: Born in the south to a Tanner, Roger learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Human companion (his 'brother'). He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Shane embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. He does not believe in violence as a means to an end. He is a dedicated Farmer but believes his peers are too gung-ho.

History: He was born in the north. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: He dislikes all the random violence that takes place in the east. Energy wise he seems alert and responsive.

History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions.

Personality: He is a pretentious jerk insisting that modern society is full of problems and should revert to a simpler time. He has all his life been fascinated with poetry.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.
