However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the brigands.

History: Born in the east to a Body Guard, Richard learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He became a Body Guard soon after.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Body Guard and was forced into it by his family; and his spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion

Personality: He is always cheerful, even with a hangover, and is always willing to go through all sorts of trouble to help his friends. He considers everything a fun event and doesn't hold grudges. He is however nostalgic and wants to reunite with his old comrades. He has some compunction and patriotism and will work for the government before all other clients.

History: Gilbert was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Monk, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Monk in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He found a children's book about a Human Monk who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

History: Shane was born the youngest of three triplets. He struck it rich when he found rare goods in large quantities. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Motivation: Marry his sister to traveling adventurers; and he is greedy

Personality: He has a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor. He is not one for noise or eating so much, which is in direct contrast with his big mouthed big gutted partner. His partner is his best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. He invented a lineage for himself and claims to be descended from several legendary heroes.

History: Born to a Stableman, his mother struggled to pay the bills. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Human companion (his 'brother'). He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.
