He and his family wandered north to less war torn lands. He saw the violence of war and the aftermath so he converted to religion and dedicated himself to non-violence.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and he is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get him out

He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was granted psionic powers by his dying sister.

Motivation: To reunite with his absent father; and doesn't want to be a bounty hunter and was forced into it by his family
