History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. In his 16th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his father impaled in their home, and his mother beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: He was raised in a mountains tribe. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He has passion for adventuring and risk; and doesn't want to be a scribe and was forced into it by his family

Personality: He is extraordinarily eccentric. He is vehemently anti-magic. All of it is evil and corrupting in his opinion.

History: Born in the south to a Shepherd, Theobald learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. A gifted student he started as a Crown-heir, but he got bored and became a Shepherd. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

History: He was raised by priests from a young age. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Motivation: His religion dominates his actions; and he is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally
