Because his mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, giants burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. History: He was raised by priests from a young age. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Since his father passed away years ago, his mother had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town.
