History: Miles lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Personality: He loves justice and goodness and right action. Anyone who does not fulfill this criteria perfectly will no doubt get a lecture from him. He is the most sanctimonious self-righteous Human in existence. He takes great joy in being the best Carter in town.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Carter. He was granted arcane powers by his dying sister.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Carter responsibilities is difficult; and he is unsatisfied with his job

Personality: Soft-spoken and well mannered, he has an amazing amount of patience and a slow boiling temper. He refers to his adoptive mother for almost all things he is unsure about, which are numerous. He is very much still a child and has not developed a drive for self-dependency.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Human companion (his 'brother'). He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature sai.

Motivation: Nothing but the best is good enough for him; and he's looking for his big break

Personality: He is enamored with his job. He loves it. He likes the challenge and he likes helping those less fortunate than him. His philosophy is that everyone needs a friend and as such shows hospitality towards all.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. His childhood dream was to be a Spy, but he was a colossal failure. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: Expand his business; and wants to open a new tavern

Personality: Aside from being a little slow due to sleep deprivation he is generally quite perceptive. He notices little details and can draw good conclusions from them. He will often invite strangers home for dinner and talk their ears off. He cares deeply for his spouse and does his best to make sure his guests look presentable.

History: Alex was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His childhood dream was to be a Locksmith, but he was a colossal failure. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Knight.

Motivation: Wishes to resurrect an old love; and sabotage a competitor
