History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Many illithids want him driven away; and find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister

When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.
