History: Nicholas lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. After a long history of fighting, Nicholas and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: Born in the west to a Sage, Everard learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He has had some formal dancing training, and achieved minor success. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. He inherited a moderately successful company from his mother. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and obtaining odd cultural human artifacts is his passion

Personality: Deceptive and manipulative this southern guy figured out how to best use his charms to convince people to do what he wants. He is cautious and jumpy. He reacts to every sound and lacks any concept of subtlety.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Ernest was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and he is terrified, and will act out of fear

History: Born to a Blacksmith, his mother struggled to pay the bills. His parents enrolled him in a Sorcerer school at a young age so that he could practice his arcane talents. He now owns his own business.
