History: Bernard lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

History: He was born in the south, but his parents moved at a very young age to the east. Miles was born on a far southern forest where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Butcher. Some 4 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Miles never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.
