Manfred was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature lance.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and he wants revenge against gnolls

Personality: He will use flattery and sarcasm to attack and weaken his opponents. Despite his formidable combat skills he remains a coward. He passes on several rewards to people in need. He makes a point to leave places better than he found them.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. In his 15th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Hugh alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He now spends his time doing works of charity.

Motivation: He is unsatisfied with his job; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it

Personality: He fancies himself a trickster and likes to rely on his wits to carry the day. He cares for his older siblings and likes to be recognized by them. He moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep his interest for a month it is impressive.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Crown-heir they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Architect, and he later adopted a second son.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and he is greedy

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Guard born in the past three hundred years. He is vehemently anti-magic. All of it is evil and corrupting in his opinion.

History: He is a Lamia in disguise. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Guard work with an outfit from a few towns over. Guard work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.
