Through the years after Frederick was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Personality: Gerard is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. He claims to be unscrupulous but at the end of the day he will do what he thinks is right.

History: Gerard was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Barbarian, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Barbarian in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost.
