History: He was born into a rich family. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He found a children's book about a Human Monk who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. During his travels, Gilbert and his party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Gilbert discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Gilbert fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing his own horrible transformation.
