He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Born in the east his family was never financially stable. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Humans in Hubert's homeland. Hubert decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He wants random interesting trinkets and junk, hates to throw anything away; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help
