History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. In his 10th year, his parents were killed by a orcs raid, leaving Chad alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by orcs, and he desires to right it; and to pay off his debts

When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He's also a talented Apothecary, but doesn't like to broadcast it.
