History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Anselm was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. A gifted student he started as a Butcher, but he got bored and became a Bather. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Bather for hire.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Bather and was forced into it by his family; and find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it.
