History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his father. Bernard was born on a far northern forest where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Miner. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Miner for hire.

Motivation: He'd like to take his coworkers down a peg; and expand his business
