History: When he was but 3 years old his parents immigrated from the south. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city.
