Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: Gifted from a young age, Nicholas studied abroad. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: Born in the east his family was never financially stable. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Slave Trader hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Marry his sister to traveling adventurers; and further expansion of business

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. A gifted student he started as a Ploughman, but he got bored and became a Bellfounder. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.
