History: Roland hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. He has had some formal painting training, and achieved minor success. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Roland was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the dire rats.

His biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: He was raised by priests from a young age. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
