His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. History: Gifted from a young age, Gerald studied abroad. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting illithids, the young Gerald began to lead the lost caravan. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Gerald was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.

History: Born in the east to a Banker, Bertram learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Banker. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Apothecary they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Banker, and he later adopted a second daughter.
