Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Cook. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious western family, he was no stranger to responsibility.
