Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

History: Born to a Cartwright, his mother struggled to pay the bills. His parents enrolled him in a Adept school at a young age so that he could practice his martial talents. Some 2 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Gilbert never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Kody alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
