History: A powerful necromancer made him what he is. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and wishes to resurrect an old love

History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

His mother taught him the rudiments of the Baker arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. Through the years after Charles was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Charles's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of specialists.
