History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Gerard was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He now spends his time doing works of charity.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army
