History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. Chad liked to wander the woods near his home when he was young, something he still likes to do at least once a week. He never liked modest clothing or shoes, so he would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and he developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: He was born in the west, but his parents moved at a very young age to the north. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Humans in John's homeland. John decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

Personality: He is enamored with his job. He loves it. He likes the challenge and he likes helping those less fortunate than him. He lacks moral complications. He does what he is told to by employers but not much else. He spends his money on whatever he fancies at the time.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. Because his father participated in the massacre of their homeland, gnolls burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying west to reunite his family. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.
