Personality: He is quiet and reserved most of the time, but warms up to people very quickly. Around friends he is liable to tell dirty jokes and enjoy himself. He can see the true alignment of people by looking at them, and uses this to pass judgement.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His parents enrolled him in a Adept school at a young age so that he could practice his psionic talents. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by brigands. Roland was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the brigands.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.
