His father taught him the rudiments of the Merchant arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. A gifted student he started as a Engraver, but he got bored and became a Merchant. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
