However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it; and someone believes him a fraud

History: A powerful brothel owner made him what he is. His family was turned out during the war. He and his family wandered north to less war torn lands. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He's repulsed by the PC.
