He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: He dislikes all the random violence that takes place in the east. He is terrible with names forgetting people's names several times before they finally stick; this causes him no end of embarrassment.

History: Nicholas hails from a village terrorized by brigands. A few years later when the west was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: Many brigands want him driven away; and a deep hatred of brigands
