History: Bertram lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His first spouse was a Miller, they had one daughter, but his spouse won total custody. Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. He's also a talented Miller, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Description: He wears a shirt and pants that are bristling with pockets overflowing with maps, compasses, and other navigational equipment. With a patchy golden beard and wild golden hair. His voice is smooth and creepy, always level, but somehow just slightly unnerving.
Personality: He hates illithids. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. His philosophy is that everyone needs a friend and as such shows hospitality towards all.
History: Born in the north his family was never financially stable. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting illithids, the young Rolf began to lead the lost caravan. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
Motivation: He is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it

He found a children's book about a Human Barbarian who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.
