He was granted divine powers by his dying sister.

His partner is his best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. He does not believe in violence as a means to an end. He is a dedicated Scribe but believes his peers are too gung-ho.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Charles was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Charles's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has dedicated himself to building a better kind of golem.
