History: Born to a Navigator, his mother struggled to pay the bills. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. He was granted martial powers by his dying brother.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs

Personality: He is quite gentle and does not know the full extent of his strength. He works very hard to maintain that gentleness. The war was a terrible time for him, and Shane does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.
