History: The child of a Stableman, who enjoyed hunting, Godfrey was taken on many hunting expeditions. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: He tends to agree with only himself unless someone else's opinion sounds like he can profit from it. He tries to control his temper but he can't always stop himself from what he feels what must be done. He spends most of his days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There he gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His religion dominates his actions; and he wants to meet his childhood hero

He is muscular with a powerful set of arms. His blonde hair and beard is wavy and long. His voice is smooth and creepy, always level, but somehow just slightly unnerving.

Personality: He takes his job very seriously, in part because he fears he cannot get a new one. His philosophy is that everyone needs a friend and as such shows hospitality towards all.

History: He comes from a rich eastern family. His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Gilbert was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. Recently a tribe of illithids attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Gilbert fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: He got into the Slave Trader business at a young age. He helped his mother out around the business and became quite the natural. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Slave Trader for hire.

Motivation: To be a Miner again; and he wants revenge against giants
