When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: He comes from a rich northern family. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He struck the Mason job and began his own company from there.

History: He was born in the west. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the west were limited. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: To reunite with his absent mother.

Personality: He is quiet and reserved most of the time, but warms up to people very quickly. Around friends he is liable to tell dirty jokes and enjoy himself. He disdains his fellow westerners, claiming they make him look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Henry was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the west were limited. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and he desires power and/or immortality

History: Born to a Engraver, his mother struggled to pay the bills. While he appears to be a normal Human, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature spear.
