He found a children's book about a Human Warlock who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

In the process these unassuming Humans became a terror of the countryside. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.
