History: Ernest lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He inherited a moderately successful company from his mother. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: A deep hatred of orcs.

Personality: He dislikes all the random violence that takes place in the east. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Glassblower hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the east; and he wants revenge against illithids
