History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. In his 20th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his father impaled in their home, and his mother beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Many illithids want him driven away; and a deep hatred of illithids

History: He was raised in a forest tribe. There was a wharf not far from home where he often wandered off to fish. Lacking all sense, he decided to go on an adventure. He picked a direction and started trekking.

History: Alex hails from a village terrorized by brigands. He was an apprentice working in his father's forge. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Further expansion of business.

Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. He is a big fan of imagination and believes people should spend more time reading and writing.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and doesn't want to be a miller and was forced into it by his family
