Because they were valued, his mother taught him to defend himself. When his mother died while fighting orcs, the young Roland began to lead the lost caravan. History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Heward and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. His mother disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his mother, he was betrayed dozens of times. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
