His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: He is mildly Human supremacist, though he does not identify as such. Energy wise he seems alert and responsive.

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. When Nicholas reached his early adolescence his Human mother passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature rapier.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Gerald grew up listening to his mother's many stories. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Human companion (his 'brother'). He used his abilities to travel the world and help people.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark

Personality: He believes mankind has become decadent and spoiled by the march of civilization and an end should come to life as we know it. He is susceptible to being scared and is in actuality easily frightened. He likes to tell stories.

History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. A freak accident while working with his Marshal mother left him crippled. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He feels threatened by others; and he is wracked by social anxiety

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Human conditions. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
