History: John was raised in a hard working conservative environment. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

History: Bernard was raised in a hard working conservative environment. Through the years after Bernard was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Bernard's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He now owns his own business.
