History: Hugh lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His parents enrolled him in a Warrior school at a young age so that he could practice his psionic talents. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Personality: He hates dire rats. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He plays an instrument quite well.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has never given up on his music dream.

History: Tim was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. Through the years after Tim was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Tim's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
