History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. There was a wharf not far from home where he often wandered off to fish. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. In his 13th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Lance alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it; and someone believes him a fraud
